Dr. Sydney E. Pigott grew up on Long Island in New York where he attended Elmont Memorial High School. After graduating, he enrolled at SUNY Albany and after earning a BA in Psychology, he continued his education at the University of Maryland at Baltimore Dental School. His postgraduate training afforded him an opportunity to return to the New York area and after completion of his licensure requirements, he decided to return to Long Island. Subsequently, in September 1990 Dr. Pigott established his private practice, Pristine Dental Solutions in West Hempstead, NY.
Since acquiring his dental degree, Doctor Pigott has spent 30 years providing continuous comprehensive dental services to members of the West Hempstead community and many outlying communities. Concurrently, he has amassed an array of continuing education credits in various dental disciplines in an effort to remain current and provide the best possible care to his patients. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Pigott is also the Deputy Director of Clinical Services at the Rikers Correctional Facility located in the East River between the boroughs of Queens and the Bronx.
Dr. Pigott is an advocate for patient education and although he strongly believes that patient care is a dentist’s primary objective, in order to achieve this objective, he realizes that the patient needs to be involved. He is extremely passionate about his profession and has proven to be a valuable resource to others interested in dentistry, as he is an ardent reader of dental literature and regularly attends workshops and seminars to keep abreast of new technologies and procedures. He enjoys sharing his knowledge with his peers and others and has mentored both high school and college students in addition to offering internships in his practice.
In his limited free time, Dr. Pigott is an avid cyclist and weightlifter as total health is his passion and not just oral health.
